| In the two weeks before and after Feb. 14, 2008 I mapped out craigslist's missed connections stemming from encounters on the New York subway. During that two week time frame 421 men and women posted to missed connections on craigslist.org hoping to connect with a person they met underground. The Bedford Avenue stop on the L sparked 16 of those postings – the second largest amount of missed connections for any station, but the most for any station servicing a single line. Only Union Square, where eight lines meet, outnumbered the Williamsburg stop. The Lorimer Street–Metropolitan Avenue stop on the L won second place for scoring 12 missed connections.
